The following details referral information for Doctors. Patient referrals can be posted, faxed or emailed to us. All patient referrals are triaged according to clinical urgency. As such, it helps to have as much detail about a patient’s problem as we can get.
Please send referrals in directly, rather than asking a patient to bring it in. Patients sometimes lose the original or may not appreciate the urgency of the referral. They may get offered a routine appointment when they would have been prioritised if the referral were sighted.
Referrals can be made to our Urological Nursing staff regarding catheter care, continence and enuresis advice. Our nursing staff can organise CAPS subsidy application assessments to allow eligible patients to obtain subsidies for their catheter supplies or pads.
Although we perform urodynamic testing, because it is an tertiary line invasive test we only accept direct urodynamic referrals from specialists.
